Welcome!

I am a composer, improviser, arranger and pianist. I studied at the Royal Academy of Music (Junior Department), Cambridge University and the Guildhall School of Music. I studied composition with Malcolm Singer and Peter Wiegold, under whose supervision I completed a PhD in composition at Brunel University. I was the recipient of a Daiwa Scholarship which enabled me to live, study and work in Japan. My musical interests cover classical, jazz and folk music from across the world. Nowadays I combine my freelance creative work with music teaching and accompanying in my adopted home county of Buckinghamshire. I am the pianist of ‘Inscape Duo’ (with harmonica player Shima Kobayashi) and composer/arranger/pianist for the jazz group ‘Timeless’. My aim is to share the music which has inspired me and create music which will inspire others.
